1. Clean the profile ring, the inside of the socket and the groove for the ring.

2. Wet the profile ring with clean water. Squeeze it into a heart shape, the let it shape into the groove, and check alignment.

3. The pipe end provided with a 15 factory made chamfer, must be cleaned and coated with lubricant before pushing into the socket. Mark insertion depth if not already provided.

4. Push together only up to the insertion mark to take care of expansion. For large diameter pipes, a pipe jack may be used.

5. If shorter lengths are required, cut off the pipe ends squarely using fine-toothed saw and a miter box.

6. Prior to insertion in the socket the cut-off pipe must be deburred and chamfered approx 15, using a file or chamfering tool.
